According to bourgas.ru, today in Bulgaria I plan to support business in today’s conditions, here they are going to “free” electricity and natural gas from excise duty. This was stated by Prime Minister Kirill Petkov at the beginning of a regular government meeting.

Today the government decides to send a notification to the European Commission to notify Bulgaria of the exemption from excise duty on electricity and natural gas in order to allow lower prices for these two very important components of the Bulgarian economy.

The decision of the Cabinet of Ministers will help maintain the competitiveness and profitability of energy-intensive industries, as well as solve the problem of constantly rising prices for electricity and fuel.

At its meeting, the Council of Ministers of Bulgaria will also discuss the results achieved by the US delegation headed by Prime Minister Petkov. Liquefied natural gas deliveries from the two vessels in June were matched at better prices than on European markets and Gazprom.

“The Ministry of Energy will continue additional negotiations on long-term supplies, which for the first time will allow Bulgaria to carry out real diversification,” Petkov said.

“Our partners see corruption as Putin’s key instrument of influence in the region and Europe. That is why today, by order, I will order a full review of all aspects of the “Turkish/Balkan Stream,” the Prime Minister was categorical.

Petkov also noted progress in the process of finding an alternative to replace the F-16 aircraft ordered by Bulgaria, the delivery of which is still delayed. The Bulgarian sky will remain protected, the prime minister added.
