Lula da Silva: Brazil will be one of the first to support peace talks between Russia and Ukraine
Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva wrote on X (formerly Twitter) that his country would be one of the first to support and recognize the peace talks between Russia and Ukraine.
“The day Russia and Ukraine want to discuss peace, Brazil will be one of the first to recognize it,” he wrote.
Before this, the President of Brazil, at an open plenary session of the BRICS, said that the country is ready to join measures that can contribute to a ceasefire in Ukraine, as well as a just and lasting peace.
Luis Inacio Lula da Silva also said that the BRICS interstate association does not intend to compete and oppose itself to the G7 and G20. In addition, he stated that countries should allocate money to fight hunger, not war.
