At the Coast Guard Turkey reported that due to heavy fog, navigation in the Bosphorus was temporarily suspended, TASS reports.
It is specified that the movement of ships in the strait in both directions has been suspended since 04.35 due to poor visibility.
In early January, due to heavy fog in Istanbul, there were interruptions in air traffic. The administration of Sabiha Gokcen Airport (in the Asian part of the city) announced the closure of the runway due to zero visibility. Aircraft that failed to land at this airport were redirected to the new Arnavutköy Airport.
A difficult situation has also developed on the roads of the capital of Turkey – Istanbul, Bursa and the city of Chorlu. According to Yeni Safak, visibility has dropped to 25 meters.
