The head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, intends to come to Israel on a visit, during which he will visit the Gaza Strip. This will happen on November 16th. The relevant information was published by the Israeli portal Yedioth Ahronoth.
The article also clarifies that the diplomat plans to hold a meeting with the families of the hostages. In addition, the event will be attended by Israeli President Isaac Herzog, as well as the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Eli Cohen.
According to journalists, throughout 2022, Israel rejected Borrell’s requests to visit the state.
The Politico newspaper, in turn, published an article in which it said that European diplomats were forced to justify and apologize for Borrell’s statements related to the issue of whether there was a basic consensus among EU leaders on a humanitarian pause in the Gaza Strip.
