Biologist-geneticist, clinical psychologist, nutritionist, expert of the University of Educational Medicine Irina Maltseva warned that the frequent use of “comfort food” can cause food addiction. She spoke about the danger of getting used to such food on Sputnik radio.

Most often, such dishes are rich in fats, salt and sugar. For example, for someone such food may be ice cream. After eating “comfort food”, a person produces dopamine or serotonin, but subsequently the dosage has to be increased.

“A person needs to increase the dosage (“comfort food”) all the time to get this effect. Thus, food addiction develops, which destroys the neurotransmitter system, ”the specialist concluded.

Previously, it became known how to avoid fatty hepatosis or fatty liver. This was told by the gastroenterologist Rustem Sadykov.

Maintaining a healthy liver requires controlling your diet. First, you need to abandon foods containing simple carbohydrates. These are fast food, sweet drinks, pastries and desserts.
