On the eve of the New Year holidays, the specialists of the State Services portal issued a memo that determines the procedure and features for receiving free gifts for children. The federal level does not provide for such an opportunity for citizens, however, regions can privately establish benefits for certain categories of families.

Memo authors noted that regional rules determine not only the recipients, but also the contents of the gifts. Often, privileged categories are low-income and large families, as well as children with disabilities. But depending on the region, this list can be expanded or limited by additional requirements.

So, for example, in the Tomsk region, children from low-income families aged from 1 to 10 years old can receive free gifts. For residents of the Khabarovsk Territory, other conditions apply. The recipient can be a child between the ages of 2 and 13, as well as children with disabilities or from families with 5 or more children.

The content of the gift set also varies depending on the territorial distribution. Often they give sweets, toys, products for the festive table. In Kaluga, for example, they issue tickets to children’s New Year’s performances for children with disabilities, as well as children from low-income families.

Formerly online publication Uchitelskaya Gazeta told how to choose a gift for a child for the new year. Specialists of the Institute of Education issued a memo with recommendations for each age group and shared the rules that help parents in finding the desired and necessary New Year’s surprise.
