The speaker of the Eastern Group of Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Serhiy Cherevaty, said that the operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to liberate the Lugansk region would not be quick, because the occupiers fortified in this direction, informs Radio Liberty.
“The enemy had a formation there, this so-called “LPR” (illegal armed formation – ed.), which he used as a springboard to prepare an attack on us, including creating this corps of the “LPR People’s Militia” there. It is under the leadership of Russian officers I was preparing before the war, I was constantly training when there was the Operation of the Joint Forces,” Cherevaty stressed.
He noted that part of the Russian troops, after retreating from the Kharkiv region and Liman, was transferred to the Luhansk region.
According to him, in the Lugansk direction, the Ukrainian military does not go into frontal attacks, but attack the invaders with precision strikes, and then go over to counterattacks.
Mobilized Russian military outraged moving from Kherson to Lugansk region. To strengthen control over the situation on the territory of the temporarily occupied Lugansk region, the invaders set up additional checkpoints to identify and detain deserters.
