Military expert Viktor Baranets said that in order to effectively combat saboteurs in Russia, it is necessary to return to the death penalty.

He also assessed the possibility of exchanging saboteurs for captured Russian servicemen. According to the expert, the Russians may not appreciate such actions, as already happened with the Azov fighters *, who were described as inveterate scoundrels, but then included in the exchange lists.
Baranets acknowledged that in the territories that Russia annexed at the end of September, it will be difficult to deal with sabotage groups due to their large number.
“This will continue until Russia fully establishes its power in the new territories. Only when the authorities and law enforcement agencies there are headed by people loyal to Russia, when counterintelligence, which has hundreds and thousands of informers, begins to work effectively, only then the problem will subside, ”he summed up.
