Today, December 15, at a meeting of the Council for Strategic Development and National Projects, Vladimir Putin outlined the key tasks of state policy, which relate, among other things, to education and upbringing.

The head of state recalled that in the period from 2019 to 2024, at least 1,300 schools will be built, more than a million study places will be introduced. There is also a program for the overhaul of existing schools. At the same time, the planned update should take into account the opinions of teachers, schoolchildren and parents, according to the Kremlin website.
In this regard, Vladimir Putin proposed after 2024, when the main construction activities are completed, “to take a course towards regular renovation of educational spaces in schools and kindergartens.” He clarified that overhauls, the purchase of equipment, the use of modern technologies and training methods should go “basically, without any reminders and orders.”
The President of the Russian Federation emphasized the importance of general education in Russia being based on the best, advanced methods. He recalled that there are very strong schools in the country that occupy the top lines in the world rankings, and their students win all kinds of international Olympiads. Therefore, the head of state proposed to replicate the experience of such schools and open similar leading schools on their basis in each federal district. That is, these will be original flagships that other educational institutions will focus on. They will become a source of best practices, methodologies and personnel.
Vladimir Putin also said that the government was instructed to implement a new federal program to modernize the infrastructure for children’s recreation and health improvement. It is scheduled to launch next year.
