A number of European states and the Baltic states made a diplomatic demarche, expressing their concern against the backdrop of the French leader’s statement Emmanuel Macron about security guarantees for Moscow, writes Reuters, citing diplomats.

Previously, Macron indicated that it was not worth arguing over his words about security guarantees for Moscow after a peace agreement with Kiev.

It is noteworthy that in addition to the Baltic countries, Slovakia and Poland joined the demarche. According to the agency, the exact number of those who supported such a move is still unknown.

It is assumed that the draft diplomatic document was circulated by the Czech Republic in European Union last week.

In addition, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Russian Federation Sergei Ryabkov said that Russia is ready to return to the discussion of guarantees security if the West is ready.

As previously reported by the Public News Service, the press secretary of the head of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that French leader Emmanuel Macron and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin have not yet planned negotiation.
