A bulk carrier carrying Ukrainian grain hit a mine

Bulk carrier transporting grain from Odessa, was damaged in the Black Sea and was probably blown up by a mine. About it reports Reuters, citing maritime experts and a source in government of Ukraine.

Four shipping and trade sources said the Georgia S-flagged bulk carrier Liberia with a cargo of wheat, left the port of Yuzhny in the Odessa region and, while on the open sea, was damaged. According to a source in the Ukrainian government, the bulk carrier could have hit a floating mine.

It is clarified that according to the analytical company MarineTraffic, the bulk carrier was heading to the Romanian port of Constanta.

Previously, Minister of Agricultural Policy and Food Ukraine Nikolay Solsky reportedthat the country has exported almost 700 thousand tons of grain through the temporary corridor since August.
