It is noted that they were detained for “carrying a prohibited weapon.” A source told reporters that some of them are known to the French police as members of a movement that is close to the far right.
“They obviously wanted to start a fight on the field,” the source said.
According to media reports, in total, on the evening of December 14 in Paris, about 2,200 police officers and gendarmes were called on alert to watch the festivities on the occasion of the French national football team reaching the 2022 World Cup final. It is known that at the moment 115 people have been detained on the territory of the Paris agglomeration.
